Asheville Made called and asked to do an article on us.  Then they sent over a wonderful photographer.  While he was taking some photos of our most recent work that I’m calling my signature series, I went back to work at the potters wheel.

Then he came over and said he needed some photos of me and would like to get some while I was working.  I was making 24 of our medium mugs so he started taking photos.  And sure enough, this is what made the cover of the magazine.  If I knew it was going to be on the cover I would have spruced the studio up a bit and atleast changed my shirt and socks.

Well at least everyone got a glimps of everday life at the studio.

What a thrill to get a phone call from one of our galleries, telling us that I’m on the cover of The Asheville Made Magazine.  We were in the middle of doing the Weaverville Art Safari when the phone call came in.  They had to send us a photo of the cover so we could see it.

Since Ivy, our studio dog, must be in the middle of everything she ended up in the magazine too.  If you visit our studio and gallery you are sure to meet Ivy.  We were just waiting for the photographer to finish up and sat on the ladder while waiting and the photographer liked us in our natural state and of course this ended in the magazine also.  Behind us is all of the pottery we created that has been fired once and is waiting for orders to be glazed as our customers wish.

Now that you know the behind story I hope you will see this link to see the entire article https://ashevillemade.com/cabinetry-knobs-opened-the-door-to-a-50-venue-occupation/
