Sharing Our Pottery, the Making Process & How We Do Business
Salvaterra Pottery. – OUR PURPOSE
Salvaterra Pottery is all about sharing the love for pottery. And this is evident with every interaction you have with us. We are excited to share with you our enthusiasm and gratitude for having found this wonderful art medium of clay.
How do we share?
First, we are a production pottery studio and gallery. We make a bunch of pots that we sell as our livelihood. And we are thankful for every individual who chooses to buy our work. We create a large variety of pieces in several different glaze combinations. And we customize pieces for those special occasions in your life, like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries to name a few. We love being a part of your special moments—to create for you that one-of-a-kind pieces that says to the receiver, “You are so important to me that I had this handmade piece customized specifically for you!” That is one of the many reasons why shopping at our studio is different from shopping at so many other places. All the pottery you see at our studio is made right here on site and we can create most any pottery you want. And you get to meet Sue and her assistants who do the creating.
We also share how we make our handmade pottery for sale. If you visit our studio/gallery, (just minutes from Asheville and immediately off I-26, in Weaverville) take a behind the scenes tour. We are always in the middle of throwing on the wheel, glazing, finishing, firing, etc. Let us know you would like to take a tour and we are delighted to do that. And we also have a variety of tutorial videos for those who cannot visit us and for those who want to learn more about the making process. We will keep the videos coming so you might want to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Or follow us on Instagram where we share many of the daily happenings. And if you have something you are interested in learning from us, please ask.
And of course, we share with our community through outreach. One of our favorite charities is Empty Bowls.
So, in short, we want to share our passion for making pots with you and there are many ways we reach out to you in attempt to do that.
